Hi shipmates, just a quick picture taken from our Pre-Com booklet we were
issued in Newport, 1962.
The cover of the book has this great shot, probably the earliest one in
water! Obviously taken at West Wego, or Avondale (they may both be the
same?). Lets hear from anyone that went to the ship in Louisiana and
brought her around to Charleston. Tell us who else you remember was on
board or the trip. We know that Capt. Alexander and LT. Robert Rustad
were two of the officers, and that Arlen "Alex" Alexander ET3 was one of
the enlisted persons. Who were the rest?
