Ok, this isn't as good as a photo of the crew or one of the beauty queens we
usually picked up! But, it should jog your memory of some great times we had!

The rule of thumb for a great liberty is first to get hold of the "Off Limits"
list that the ship puts out. Those usually are the best places for a sailor
to go.... right? As a young sailor, I've got to say "YES". As a corpsman
it makes me shutter! You don't know how many shots I've had to give over
the years to young sailors and Marines. and oh yes, a fair share to our
fellow officers.... but being the "professional" person that I am. that I
became....I won't discuss that. (Ha, ha). Anyway, San Juan makes me think f "five and two",
"my mother is a virgin", and yes, I do remember those
beautiful sunsets. when they weren't blurry! I remember getting a "free
ride" in the paddy wag! on along with Joe Miele, and a few other sailors.
That cost me a few days restriction or hours extra duty I'm sure! I remember
the mixed drinks were 10 cents, and if you wanted a cold beer they were 25
cents. Do you think this encouraged you to drink the hard stuff?
 Start
making your notes, writing those sea stories down, and gathering your photos
for the reunion. After 40 years, you'll need the old pictures because no one
will recognize you now!
